Hi Tom,
Do you know of any way to calculate the track width and spacing for a differential impedance of 50 ohms on a base material of aluminum nitride(AIN) ceramic and track mat'l nickel(.5um) gold(~3.0um)?????? Also, there is no GND reference plane.
Any help on this subject would be appreciated.
Regards,
Don
Don,
No, unfortunately we haven't developed a calculator for that yet. I normally refer to Master or PHD Degree engineers to assist in those calculations. Also, I do not know of any existing calculator that can take in all those factors "base material of aluminum nitride(AIN) ceramic and track mat'l nickel(.5um) gold(~3.0um)".

Hello Don,
I believe we can solve for you, using our Si6000 impedance field solver. Of course we sell this (to make a living, you understand !!) But on this occasion I'll be delighted to assist you with some free calculations off line, if you will contact me with guideline dimensions and a value for Er (Dk)
I need Dielectric thickness, etch taper of tracks, and so on. Take a look at our Si6000 which you can download and evaluate free, and you'll see what I need in order to assist you. It sounds as if I will use the edge coupled coplanar waveguide, with ground planes spaced a very long way from the tracks. Tell me if your structure is coated, with detail info on that too please.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Cheers
