View Full Version : Cadence Allegro package libraries!?

Does anyone know where we might be able to purchase libraries for Cadence Allegro package symbols (and padstacks that go along with them)? We have contacted Cadence and they don't supply/support any library symbols, they basically said we're on our own to make them, and they don't have any names of people who do produce them.

Thanks,
Jason

Please stay tuned. We are working on very possibly coming out with a pcbstandards Cadence library.

Jason;

Call Bob Kellher (607) 754-1882 or email bob@ema-eda.com
http://www.ema-eda.com/

They are a Cadence VAR and have libraries available, I have used them and they are great, they also do custom libraries.

Tell them that Lou Dallara sent you and you will get better treatment :-)

Hi all.

There's a couple places to check.

1) In the cadence install there are some library parts and padstacks. Old, but some. check in Share/pcb/lib or something like that.

2) SMTPlus has Allegro libraries for sale (might be cheaper now than in the past) based on their land pattern library.

3) What are you needing?

Randy, if you are needing help with the Allegro library, let me know. I could probably help out. I've got Cadence installed at home, and could work out something if needed. Let me know.

I have about 80% of the RLPXXX footprints from the IPC-SM-782 manual ready to use, including 'true to size' assembly outline.

If anyone is interested, email me at: padmaster@bellsouth.net

Please send me the libraries and Cc: cadpro2k@dacafe.com

Do we have your permission to add these to our existing Cadence Libraries for public availability?

I somehow misplaced the zip disk that had that library on it, but I did get another copy from the designer at that company. Looks like he has done quite a bit of modifying and renaming RLPxxx to something more recognizable. Alot of the original footprints I built are still intact though.

These are fairly large zip files (3) so I will send them to you Tom, then you can send them to cadpro2k. Let me know if you got all three files.

Also, I believe these are still v. 13.6 files, so you may have to run a translation or just view the .dra files and recreate symbol in your version.

Of course you can add these to your library :)

Thank You Very Much Sir! I'll send them over to Mitch Morey to get his blessing and have him upgrade them to our standard.

This is what the world needs. A team working together to help each other be more productive, eliminate duplication and establish an acceptable standard that will help automate or job and all the manufacturing processes.

Super job PadMAN. :)

I'll see what you have when I get them.

What's going on right now is this:

I'm in process of translating all the pcbstandards.com footprints in Nominal to Allegro footprints. This is a little tasking since allegro uses padstacks, PADS doesn't and the converter doesn't account for padstack names, BUT I'm converting at least two pages of the pcbstandards manual per day. I've got the resistors, capacitors and diodes completed, and will work on the "common" ICs next.

The library is being developed in metric to be issued for free. There will be an inch version following that which will only be "for sale". After I've completed the Nominal lib, I'll work the "minimum and maximum conditions libs".

I'll start posting the status of the library development on a weekly basis.

Good day. :)

Mitch

Hi randychase! I'm a CAD manager in an insitute of shanghai, China. After almost 2 years packages collection, there already has up to 1 thousand kinds of packages in library, certainly they're for Cadence Allegro 14.1 . I don't know which library structure you would adopt? Anway, I hope I could do what I can to help you. You just call me roger, okay!!!

Excellent! Would you be okay to share them?

I could transfer these packages to you free. But I don't think it's good to share them on web free for all people... I know you're setting the service to supply some techinical support onine by taking some kinds of fee. So I want to know your idea and I will have it done after we reach a common idea. My email is rogergong@263.net, you could write to me directly....
