In the Landpattern Calculator PTH Padstacks, the PTH anti-pads
start out larger than the inner layer pads (same size as the other
layers).
But as the hole and pad sizes increase, the anti-pad size
becomes *less* than the pad size...
Does this assume that all unused pads are eliminated?
---------------------------------------------------
In the NPT Padstacks, the anti-pad sizes are the same, but
of course, non-plated holes have no connections or pads
left over after drilling anyway.
What I was looking for in the PTH Padstacks calculator was a
guide to suggested copper-to-*pad* clearances by looking at
the anti-pad sizes,
but the anti-pad sizes give the copper-to-*hole* clearances
for NPT holes (and PTH holes on layers with unused pads?)
This seems to be confirmed by the Round Pad Calculator.
I guess it is easy enough to add a 'standard' copper-to-pad
clearance to any pad on the routed layers. I was looking for a
'standard' clearance that all agree is reasonable and 'standard'
enough to be in the pcbstandards...
Thanks.
