After a long deadlock the maximum number of users on this site has been broken (Was 28)
It is Friday after all
Phillip,
It seems we broke another record today. We reached 500 members today when Brenda Braden registered. This is starting to take off. We're glad to see that. Makes all the hard work worth while.

We reached 500 members today
I know of only one other message board with more members (I'm sure there are others, I just haven't seen them), and It's a sports related (Broncos) board. :)

I help run another board with 25,000 users and easily over a million posts. Normally there are 500-600 registered users online at any time. I know of some other sites like this also.
But this is a work related site, so we should use a different scale to measure it by. I think the activity is picking up and will continue to do so. I am excited about some new things in work that everyone will soon see.
500 users is great. More importantly, we have people helping each other.
It should be noted that www.pcbstandards.com has received over 1,000,000 (1 million) hits in the past 3 months with some days reaching 60,000 hits. This is mostly people downloading data files.
We'll let you know future milestones like 100,000 hits in a single day and 1 million hits in a single month.

The IPC Designers Council list has over 1600 members
on it...
I think you got a way to go..
Don't go getting full of your self..
I think therefore I am..
I think that you are missing the original concept of this thread.
"Most Users" means the number of Forum members Simultaneously active on the pcbstandards message board.
I take your comment as a misunderstanding of "Most Users".

Agreed. If you read above, I admin a site with 25000 users. It's now about size, but how it's used.
35 users on this site at one time is an accomplishment and a step toward where we will be. More importantly, the web statistics for the site overall show a continuing trend of activity.

The point I was trying to make is after a year more and more people are using the site and coming back again and again.
This means that the site is being put to good use.
The last thing anyone wants is to put a lot of time and effort into something that does not ever get used.
I have had this happen on pcbs in past companies where I get halfway through and the project is canned.
I still get paid for the work I have done but that’s not the point.
Most people take pride in their work and wish to see their creations do well.

Tom;
Thanks for the clarification of most users, because i think that's it's a very important point, relative to the record of most pcb designers on a web site at the same time.
The most users on-line at a single time was broken today - 49 users on-line at the same time. The old number was 34 on 9/23/02.
Another record was set for the most users going to a specific thread - PowerPCB "What size trace width is your default? Poll" got over 270 Views within 5 hours.
Also, another record was broken today - Most registered users in a single day and we will reach the 700 member mark if one more person registers.
I don't know how many web hits we got in the past 30 days, but I bet it's a record breaker also.
All in all, everything is going great.

We went over 1.2 million hits last month, transferred over 700,000 files.
I just wanted to mark todays milestone. Just had the 1,000th Thread entered and the current membership is 711.

Cool!
P.S. Tom, I am on another computer. I don't have access to email for another day or so. I lost my primary drive on my computer AND I lost the motherboard. So I am building a new system and re-installing everything this weekend.

Stop the SPAM !! PLEASE !!
I don't care how many hits you got today, yesterday or tomorrow, I got a DAM routing nightmare !!
Wow, and I thought that Off-Topic was safe. Yikes!
We'll see what we can do to remove you from this thread so that you don't get pinged everytime I post a milestone. I will be posting here from time to time and you will get pinged until the webmaster removes you from this thread.
Sorry for the interruption in your routing nightmare.

Email Notification and subcribing to a thread
This should be wisely used. There is a setting when you registered that enables you to be notified when ANY thread you have posted in gets another reply.
What this means is that when the board gets busy, you could wake up to hundreds of email notifications. How annoying!
You can turn this feature off! When you first registered, it was an option, but you very likely did not even know what it meant. If you are getting an email notification about every thread you have posted in, that can get annoying. Here is what to do:
Click on the user cp button at the top row of menu buttons. Click on edit options. You will see under Meesaging & Notification the option Use 'Email Notification' by Default. Click this to NO.
Now all future threads you post in will not be "subscribed."
How do you UNSUBSCRIBE from the threads you are already subscribed to? Back at the user cp menu, you will see a green bar with Private Messages; one with Subscribed Forums and a third one with Subscribed Threads.
Click on where it says View All Subscribed ThreadsOn the next screen on the right hand side, there is a blue menu selection that says Unsubscribe From All Threads
That will clear all of them. Now if you want, you can subscribe individually to a thread or forum.
If you want to know ANYTIME that someone replies to one thread or an entire forum, that is what you do. That can be handy if you are involved in a debate or something very interesting and you don't want to hit refresh and check for replies. Just subscribe to it and the forum will email you and notify you that someone replied!
Just marking where we're at on this day 6/3/03.
