I am looking for a pinlist program for pads 4.0.
If there is any free copies. I would like for it to have
pin to pin / length (inches) (mm) (ps) net name.

You can do that right in pads. Select the net, route or pin pair you want to measure, and use the modeless command "QL".

Brenda,

There is a standard VB Script that comes stock on the V4.0 CD. It's called 18 - Excel Pin List Report. It produces an Excel Spread Sheet of every pin X/Y coordinate in your design. Other than that, I would need more information of exactly what you are looking for.

Tom,

She's talking about a list of net names, lengths, and delay (ps). Common need in the ATE industry.

A good pinlist program is hard to come by, especially for free.

Hello,
I too am interested in acquiring a pinlist program that Brenda was describing. I need this program for PADS 5.01. I am willing the purchase this product and will pay more for a better/more powerful program. Does anyone know where I can purchase a powerful pinlist program?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Just look in the resources section - there is a basic script that outputs a net legth report - delay is based purely on the Dk of your material and can be calculated easily.

Do you have that formula handy, I have one for Co but not trace capacitance, that would be based on Dk & trace/dielectric dimensions including length.

I have used this script, but this is an inefficient way of retrieving the data that I am after. I can add the formulas for all of the capacitance, inductance and delay on my own, but I really need a powerful pinlist program that will allow me to select a source component and a list of destination components, along with some type of mapping file ability to produce a meaningful report. Is there any program out there that I can purchase that does this?
Thanks
