When do you think to release this product?
can you share its capabilities?
thanks
roby
Roby,
We've been talking about Library Wizards for over 10 years now and here's where we are at.....
We started to design a calculator that would make simple 2 pin "Chip Components". We gathered all the data in the world for 2 pin chip components and simply built them all quicker than it would have taken to write the software code for the Wizard.
Then we decided to move on to SOIC's (gullwing on two sides) and we gathered up all the SOIC data in the world and within a week built every SOIC in the world.
So there was no need to continue with the SOIC Wizard so we started focusing on QFP's and the same thing happend, we built every QFP in the world.
We had to ask ourselves - What good is a BGA wizard if all the BGA's land patterns are built?
The only component family that keeps growing like a weed is connectors. Connectors are so complex in shape, style, pins, application, etc. that it is very difficult to build a wizard for connectors.
If you're really interested in a wizard, Frank Frank in Huntsville, AL has made one. Frank is negotiating with Randy Chase to resell his calculator here on pcbstandards.com. Our original goal was to produce and distribute a free wizard, but Frank wants to become a millionaire so hopefully we'll be able to help him become one.

Tom,
Is there something wrong with wanting to be a millionaire?
Ben
Ben,
No not at all. I think that anyone who works as hard as Frank Frank does deserves to be a millionaire. But, it still would be nice to have a free library wizard.

A millionaire? I would just be happy to sell enough product to pay for the server costs. :)
We are complete on the negotiations with Frank Frank about selling his library translators and generators and more on this site. We are right now creating web content. Should be very soon. Please.... if you are interested in what he has, please buy it through us.
