I am working somewhere new and do not have the correct driver to use the hpgl2dxf translator. I am working in PADS. Anyone know where I can get the driver? HP doesn't even support the old pen plot drivers and I don't know which new ones will work.
Thanks, Juli

You don't need a driver. It's in PADS CAM. Select the PenPlot output and under device select one of the HP plotters like the 7580.

Let me know if that does not work.

Julie,

Randy's correct. All the HPGL drivers are in PowerPCB.

Go to File/CAM/Add/Pen Plot/Device Setup/Pull Down "Device" and select HP-7580.

Number of Pens should be set to "8".

Then set up your Pen Colors in this order:
1 = Black
2 = Royal Blue
3 = Bright Green
4 = Red
5 = Magenta
6 = Cyan
7 = Yellow
8 = Brown

Then set the "Pen Line Width" to 0.25mm (10 mils).

Select OK and you're ready to produce HPGL data.

No worries, just don't leave it in there with the windows rolled up.
