I would love to use the wealth of Autocad files, but I do not have that program.

What I have is the OrCAD Visual CADD v.7.1 and need to be able to import the dwg files into this. I keep getting an error.

Is there some translation program out there, or perhaps I don't have settings quite right on the Orcad?

thanks so much.

Hi Jesse,

I don't have any info about your Visual CADD, but I do recommend looking into AutoCad LT or IntelliCad.

Most other programs do not import DWG files directly, though they will import DXF.

Where in Mexico do you work? I am going down there around once per week.

thanks.

It appears more obvious to me that I cannot get away with not having some sort of CAD software, be it solidworks, lt, the ones that you mentioned, etc.

now it's a matter of price.

Mexico, well I lived in Playas de Tijuana for 2 years, kids went to private school there. That was the good old days when the goons at the border didn't hold up the traffic so bad.

I've built a house on my in-law's property, so I was spending quite a bit of time between Home Depot and the site (which is quite a bit East.)

regards.

Repairing .dwg files it's for dwg recover (http://www.recoverytoolbox.com/dwg.html). The program works under any Windows OS. The utility restores .dwg files after hdd failures, malicious software. The utility uses high end ways of restoring autocad data.
