I created a new SmartMedia card adapter part decal. I started with an existing part from the pcbstandards library and modified. But the mounting holes were thru-hole and are now surface mount pads. No big deal right? But there were antipads and thermals defined on the inner layers for those surface mount pads.

For some reason, I figured no big deal, it's not a thru hole. Well, Split/Mixed still sees those settings and I have thermals and voids under the surface mount pads.

So, the question is, how to change the padstacks. I can delete and make new padstacks for those pins of course.

Do you just zero out the settings for antipads and thermals on inner layers?

Select the padstack and simply delete the antipad. You can replace all the padstacks, or select the ones you want to replace.

Randy,

edit the padstack to get rid of thermal and antipad definition.
To do so, select the layer with the definitions, select thermal in padstyle dropdown and press the now enabled "Use Global Defaults" button. Do the same for the antipad and you should be done.

Hope this helps!

Thanks. I could not see a way to delete them...I could only make them very small...like zero sized. I wondered what that new Use Global Defaults button was for, but it scared me. :)
