Hello,

Here at work I use OrCad Capture and Layout to perform my work. I have another company that uses PowerPCB v4. When they export the PCB as a ASC v3.5 or v4.0 file, but when I try to import them I get error. I use the PADS PCB option, but I get a lot of errors. Can OrCad read these files? If so what option and how do I get OrCad to read it correctly. If there is an option or program that will allow me to view the PCB files ( as a native PowerPCB or as ASC file ) that would work fine also. I don't need to edit them, I just need to review them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried having them output ASCII as Ver 3 or even lower?

Is there some special thing that requires a higher level, such as a Split/Mixed Plane?

I have done some transfer between the two programs a while ago. The only problem I had was fonts had to be tweaked a little and text on the back did not mirror correctly.
