In continuation of my "off" year from motorsports.. :)

In March, I went to Los Angeles and competed in the SCCA ProSolo in C-Stock. Somehow managed to take a 1st place win. So that ties me with another guy (Tim Aro) on the east coast for 1st place wins.

This is a series based points race with the best 2 out of your first 3 races counting towards points. A perfect season will give you 40 points (20 for each race) heading to the Finale in September. In 2000, I managed to win 1st place overall for the year, in spite of going in with 36 points.

This weekend the race is in A****er California, just outside of Merced/Yosemite. Not too far a drive.

In June I will be racing in Michigan, and I might go to Utah in July. And of course, Kansas in September, if I am in the points race.

I have never sold a car in my life, drive them until they die, would like to get an MR2 when my Fiero dies.

what is the contraption on the riders side hood?

pretty cool shot of your old car, just 3 wheels on the ground!

Is the new car still C-Stock?

I just got a new GTI-GLX and I'm gonna get back into autox. I used to do regional races. I had a 1980 Mitsubishi/Dodge Challenger. I had to run C/SP because I added sway bars and swapped the single carb for a pair of mikuni 44s. My daily driver, with 120K miles on it, was getting kicked around by a bunch of trailered in Rabbits (but at least that car sounded GREAT!)

Yes. The joike is that SCCA changed the classes, so I had to drive a new car so I didn't have to buy new magnetics. :)

Very tight competition up there. Unfortunately I was a little off. We did a front swaybar change 2 days before the race and no time to test/tune it. It may not have been optimum. The race will be a drop for me as far as points.

I am now going to the next race in Michigan.

Flogged my Viper around the track at Raceway Park this past weekend. We had two days of drag racing and auto-x runs.
Best time in the 1/4 mile was a 12.3 @120mph.
I'm probably considered slow for a short auto-x course.
Slinging 3400 lbs around corners is a workout.
But, as long as I beat the 'Vettes!!

Nice pic Ray.

I will be Michigan during the next week to race a Spyder up in Oscoda for the SCCA ProSolo.
