Traces Too Big?

I'm designing PCBs for an amplifier circuit that uses OPA541s that run on average 100mA a piece. My first design had conservative sized power traces (0.02") and it worked just fine. My next few designs have over sized power traces (0.1") and it causes the amps to get stuck in a shorted state where they draw 2A each.

Is it possible to have traces that are too large? Or, is it some function of parasitic impedances that I'm overlooking? Or, are all of my assumptions wrong and I need to find a new chip?
