Help Needed importing Allegro file to Altium

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how easy it as to import a Cadence allegro .brd file into Alitium designer 6.

I've been told there is wizard that converts the file but I dont know how straight forward the process is!

I actually want to then convert the converted Altium file into Mentor Pads.

Anyone using Altium know if this actually possible or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Hi Blondemartin

Altium can read in Allegro ASCII files.However. if you want to read in an Allegro .brd file you'll need a licensed copy of Allegro on the same computer.

Altium doesn't write out PADS files however there is a converter from Mentor that converts Altium/Protel files into PADS files (though why you would want to is beyond me) :)
