Creating Device file

Hi all,

Can anyone provide me instrctions for creating a device file.I want to swap the pins of BGA which i am using now. It has 688 pins.I am using Allegro 14.2, While trying to swap the pins its showing 'swap code is zero'.

Its very urgent.

Hi Angel,

What is your schematic capture tool? Capture? I'm not all that familiar with doing it from a device file. The HELP inside Allergro or Capture might help.

If you have pst"xxx".dat files you can edit the pstchip.dat file, and change the SWAP CODE from 0 to A or B or 1, 2, 3 etc. Then you should be able to swap pins around.

I've always found the ways to do it thru the HELP files though.

Hi,
If you are using Capture as schematic tool, you must define swap ID on schematic library symbol. In this way, Allegro understands if pin swap ID is same, you can change pins and backannotate to schematic tool.
