Newbie to Altium.

Can I import DXF files straight into Altium or do I need to do some magic on it?

tm

It would help if I ran DXF under help.

But this is my current issue. When I ran import it crashed and gave me this error message:

External exception EEDFADE at 7C812A5B.
kernel32.dll, Base Address: 7C800000.

Exception Occurred In
DxfDwgFileImport

What does this mean?

Try saving the DXF to Autocad 14 or 12 version - there are programms other than Autocad that can do this I'm sure you can find a trial version.

There is a shareware program out there that will take your DXF ver XX and convert it to a lower version - also try using Camtastic to import it and re-export from Camtastic - for the shareware just google cad shareware then search from there.

If you cant get the DXF converted post it up and I can convert for you in a few older autocad formats....
