View Full Version : Orcad Layout plus to PADS2007 layout (max to pcb)

hi all,

I am switched to PADS2007 from Orcad layout plus 10.5,
and want a translator from max file to pcb file,
can anyone help?

Make sure you save your board in PADS as a ASCII file first....


Then when you start up Orcad you should have File --> Import -->PADS PCB

Got it backward Gizzmo - I think Mentor just announced a new suite of free translators that includes Orcad - Pads, as for ver 2007 - I'd keep 2005 spac2 or 3 handy 2007 still has some bugs that need to be worked out.

oops i do, how bout in the Orcad: File--> Export --> PADS PCB

Dont remember how cleanly that works....

Don't know, been years since I dabbled with Orcad Layout - (I found it lacking in several areas) - I don't think I ever tried it, the 2 areas that always seem to be an issue in all translations are the fills and the padstacks, as you already know a lot of the time using a translator and redoing the board equals about the same amount of time.

Mentor had the Orcad/PCAD/Cadstar PCB and Schematic translators online at Mentor.com Visit the site and do some searching.... Oops, let's see I might have the link... Here it is:
