Any Advantage or Disadvantage

Hi,

IS there any issue if we use 623 pin Socket (NO CONNECT pins unpopulated)instead of 823 pins (FULLY POPULATED) , We have 200 (NO CONNECT) pins in our pinlist.

Any suggestion? (any Advantage or Disadvantage)

Usually a partially loaded socket costs more than a fully loaded one , unless you are buying a ton of them.

I would create the decal that reflects the actual part, regardless of how many pins are unused.

I agree, why would you want to sub a part? I would think doing something like that could burn you now or if the board is ever passed on and rev'd again....
