Humm so to make sure we got the correctly translated design of a Altium Board we wanted to view it..well we dont have the latest greatest Designer or DXP or whatever its called these days so being the IT Guy i go request there "free" viewer.....I download the software and wait for normal email or rep to call to activate it.....well it never happens so i make a few calls and end up to a sales rep.

He tells me that "We only give the free viewer to licensed customers of Altium"

Me "Huh, you have to own the full version of Altium to use the 'free' viewer?"

Him "Kinda, you just need to be a licensed customer of the product to request the code."

Me "So i need to go harass my customer and/or the design house we took the project from and ask if they could get us the code?"

Him "Yes sir"

Me "How does this make sense?"

Him "It's just our current policy."

Me "Well thank you for your time, i will have to get back to you on this"

Am I the only one this doesnt make sense to? I know i have downloaded a Cadence Viewer, Mentor Viewer, Orcad Viewer, AutoCad Viewer, even a Gerbtool Viewer. All with out having to "buy" or "own" anything..... </rant off>
