It appears the many manufacturers use SOT-23 and TO-236 interchangeably. When reviewing the specs for the these two parts in the PCB Standards library, I discovered that the PCB Standards spec' for the T0-236 package does not match the JEDEC standard:

For the dimension L (toe-to-toe distance) JEDEC calls out 2.10mm min, - 2.64mm max. The PCB Standards spec calls out 2.64 nominal. Shouldn't the nominal toe-to-toe be 1.37mm?

JEDEC also allows the hight of the part to range from .75mm - 1.17mm for variation AA or .89mm - 1.12mm for variation AB. The PCB Standards spec calls out 1.02mm max height.

(There is also a small discrepency in body length which is irrelevant for the most part.)

In any event, the SOT-23 definition is closer to the JEDEC TO-263 standard.

Just though I'd let you know...

Joe,

Thanks for the catch. We had the Maximum lead span and it should have been the Nominal lead span. I've attached the updated documentation. The updated SMN Library will be available for download 2/19/02.
