Hello fellow collegues,
We are using an old version of Cadstar (v5) and just recently I experienced an unexpected error. The pcb.lib gets corrupted whenever I attempted to save a new component. When the error is commited, the pcb.lib cannot be opened anymore.I noticed that a pcb.bak is generated whenever the error occur. When I rename the file to pcb.lib i can open the pcb.lib again.
Is there a limitation on the number of library components that can be saved? Or is it a limitation in the file size of the pcb.lib. As of now Im having hard time figuring out how can i deal with this. I need to create new components. I tried to create a new library. It worked fine but only to the new parts i created. The problem is that the other parts (previously created) that have reference to the pcb.lib cannot locate the components (since i have to set the default component library to the new component library i created).
Im thinking of creating project specific library. But this would mean creating new parts again :( which will involve importing some components to new components library. Whew!
Anyone who has experience on this? How are you able to deal with this?
Many thanks :)
