Hi Jasmine,
I've never done a PCAD translation before, but I've done numerous PADS designs. I'd suggest looking into the process from Cadence Sourelink (sourcelink.cadence.com) and see what it says. That's how I figured out the PADS translation.
Good day.
Mitch
Hi Mitch,
Saw your reply to Jasmine - I'm a PADs user and have a customer needing to get some of his data converted to Cadence. Not being an Allegro user on maintenance, I'm unable to access sourcelink.
I assume I need to export an ascii file to them - any help/info with what I should tell them would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, LC

FILE/EXPORT
give it a name (the ascii export file)
Select all
Change the format to v3.0 or v3.5
Save
This will write an ascii file that an allegro person can import. If you need more help, send the file to cadpro2k@iwon.com and I can import it, and send it back. I DO NOT PIRATE WORK.
Good day.
Mitch
Appreciate it Mitch!
That is what I needed. I'll pass on to my customer and let him know your offer if he cannot handle in house. CDA involved so it is his call.
Thanks again, LC

I do it all the time, HOWEVER, there is a trick. If you get in a bind, please contact me. Sorry, but I DO charge for my time.
