RoHS pad shape requirements

Has anyone been looking at changing standard pads shapes and sizes based on RoHS requirements? We have had certain fab houses tell us to change shapes and sizes.

I'm really suprised, a great deal of study has been done for a drop-in substitute for 63/37 - my take on this is that your suppliers are dreaming if they think that all PCB's that have already been designed are going to be redesigned for their process, but, hey!, that would make for a great job market.

Oh my - am I in trouble if changes to footprints are neccessary! I have not heard/made specific footprint changes yet. BUT, we have not made a concrete decision on our fabrication process yet either. We have tries OSP with some bad results and are currently working with a re-immersion tin with a vendor overseas. And you?
