Professor Tom

Thank you for your response to my last post regarding SMT parts. I kind of felt that randychase (whoever that is) was making fun of my inexperience. This forum is for people who are new to design too, isn't it?
I do have another question. I just received some data for a board that someone else designed. The problem is that the board does not physically fit into the enclosure in goes in. My question is how do I make the outline of the board smaller? I am using Pads PwrPCB 3.5. Thanks again for your help.

Dan,

Don't mind Randy Chase, he's just the web master for this site and pays all the bills to keep it running. He did not intentionally insult you, it's just that starting from the beginning is a really tough experience and he was sympathizing with you.

Select Right Mouse Button "Board Outline"
Then Click on the "Board Outline" and select the Keyboard Modeless command "Ctrl E" (MOVE)
Then slide the Board Outline to the desired location and click again.
Follow the same procedure for each edge that you want to relocate.
You will have to redimension your board when you're finished.

I will not be available to answer any further questions today. I'm running down to the San Diego Convention Center to visit with the IPC Standards group to discuss the furture of standard library patterns. Be back tomorrow.

Sorry Dan, I did not realize you were serious. Don't take it personal. I try to equally insult everyone.
