I was wondering if anyone knows how to set an origin in a "Lines" image that you save to the library in PowerPCB?
For instance, when you import a DXF file containing a housing and PCB outline, and you want to set the "Combined" image origin to the lower left-hand corner of the PCB outline so that when the image is called in from the library using Drafting/From Library, the image can be precisely aligned in the database.
Thanx, Ron Kern

I use AutoCad and Power PCB all the time and have a suggestion.
in your acad drawing create a circle, any size but large enough to see later. Export your dxf outline then import into powerpcb. Then find this circle and set you origin at the center of ths circle. I.E. copy the center coordinates to the set origin dialog box. Then export ascii "Lines". and import into you pre-staged layout. Of course if you have your "Move Preferances" set to "Move by Cursor Location" you can zoom to "0 0" then select the lines and Ctrl-C copy then Ctrl-Z to the layout! Hope this helps.

Vic,

When you select a Combined 2D-Line obect (RMB Select Shape and click on the shape to highlight it) select Right Mouse Button - Set Origin and where ever you click will re-establish the 2D-Line Origin. Then Select the 2D-Line object again and RMB - Save to Library. When you bring the part out of your library, the origin will be the new setting.
