Read this press release and learn what's happing to CAM350. It is now owned by ex-employees of Innoveda and a company called "Downstream Technologies". The company was founded by Richard A. (Rick) Almeida, formerly vice president of marketing for Innoveda's Product Realization Group, and Joseph G. (Joe) Clark, formerly vice president of Indirect Channels at Innoveda

And what about maintenance issues? I think if I was near the point to pay, I would hold off and see what is happening. But that is just me.

And what about the core code and technology that Innoveda kept and intends on incorporating into the PowerPCB product line (as a module with more $$ I would guess). It would be good to hear from Innoveda what the goals and plans are.

I hope this is a good thing for the users.

Well, Innoveda has a ton of products to sell, service, maintain and evolve. I personally think it is best that CAM350 be a "Stand-a-lone" product that is owned by a company who's best interest is to serve their customers on an individual basis.

We have a full blown network version of CAM350 with the ODB++ option and we will be switching maintenance from Innoveda to Downstream Technologies soon.

I believe that CAM350 technical support (Mike Harris) and product sales and marketing have already started with Downstream Technologies. I just hope everything works out OK for everyone involved. We'll see.

Tom -- I believe the official transition is Feb 1 for everyone. Just to be clear there are none of the original people from ACT/CAM350 involved in this spin-out, accept for Mike.

Jeff, I am pleased to see you post here. (side note, how goes the drag racing?).

A lot of PADS users look back at the company that was ACT quite fondly. A lot of that is attributed to you and Rich.

Thanks Randy...

ACT had something special, despite what others want to say about it, and it will be hard to re-create what ACT once was especially when you were never a part of it..........

As for Drag Racing, well.... I won't clog up Tom's site with that -- I'll drop you a note directly...
