If you're using Concept or Capture as the front-end:
pstchip.dat
pstxnet.dat
pstxprt.dat

If you're using something else, the extension doesn't matter.

Good day.

Orcad Capture is a Cadence tool. Allegro is a Cadence tool.

see: http://www.cadence.com
or www.ema-eda.com (for small tier customers)

Capture goes bi-directional between Allegro. Much nicer than PADS and transfers much more schematic data to Allegro. All you get with PADS is the footprint name and ref des. Much nicer with Allegro. Yes, there is a larger learning curve with Allegro. All depends on how apaptable you are to software.

Good day.

As the orcad tool was taken over by the cadence people. It is very easy to generate the netlist from the orcad tool. It generates three files and these files will have a extension of ".DAT".
