generating partslist

Is there a way of generating a partslist so that I sort for my internal part number and not for reference designator?

This is an old one but I saw no one answer this so I will for future reference.
In DxDesigner (viewlogic) Menu --> Tools --> Create Partlist (common) --> Attribute Fields : Add your Part Number as your attribute (make sure it is spelled correctly under "Column Label" edit the "Start Column" "Width" fields to get it onto the sheet in the correct Column placement.
you might have to pop back and forth make sure you save the .ini file each time or you will lose the edits.
Once you have the result file looking correct for the docment
import it into excel or other spread sheet and you can sort on any column.
Hint I have a folder I keep all my edited INI files in so when I up grade or move to another system I have them.
