Hi all
I 'm new user of Allegro so How to setup(database) folder of footprint to allegro because when I open allegro and use manual place the footprint is store at c:\cadance\psd_15.\share\pcb\pcb_lib\symbols

go to \cadence\psd_15.\share\pcb\text and edit the env file, or better to even move (cop) it to your pcbenv folder (it's located where your HOME environment variable is set. Later I'll explain the SKILL routines to further help you in design.)

Change the lines for padpath (padstacks) and psmpath (symbols or called footprints) to where you'll be creating your own library parts. I normally keep my padstacks in a separate folder from my footprints. You can have more than one folder location too. You might have a 'released' folder area and a 'development' folder location for your library.

Don't keep them in your Cadence/PSD_15.1.... folder.(You probably already know this) If you upgrade to 15.2 or whatever and you or your IT department delete the old Cadence folder, you're in deep poo poo.
