why pastemask is required ?,what is the advantages and disadvantages?

Hi, Pastemask is not required in your padstacks. You can generate your pastemask files automatically from all the surface mount pads.

But putting in pastemask layers in your padstacks gives you more flexibility. You can make changes to certain pads to increase or decrease the size of the pad, or to not have paste applied on some surface mount solderpads.

If you never need that kind of thing, than you can ignore putting the pastemask layer on your padstacks.
