Aluminum electrolytics tips?

Concerning aluminum electrolytic capacitors in layout, I have recently noted per cap supplier design spec, that circuit board patterns under the cap should be avoided (electrolyte leakage could cause shorts). This results in alot of lost real estate due to the large size of these caps. Do you all design by this spec or what news can you give me?

I try to avoid it, but really, it's not often possible. I do not build in a keepout as a rule.

I do the same as Randy says. Since most of our boards are only 2 layers, putting nothing under a 10 000 uF is always imposible.
