I'm building a crystal and I hate when the manufacturer drawings are wrong, look at this datasheet...Where is the lead size? I would like to use the landpattern calculator...

http://www.viteonline.com/products/crystals/vxb1.pdf

well my question is about the courtyards, is till don't undestand that very well. how far from the pins should i put the courtyard? and what should I use as far as silkscreen? the actual body of the part?

thanks

They provide a recommended landpattern but here is the dimensional data for the 3-Tier Library for Flattened (coined) leaded parts like this crystal. The Toe is on the outside of the lead, the heel is on the inside of the lead and the side is the side. The roundoff factor is for the Courtyard to keep nice whole metric intrigers rounded off to the .5mm or .05mm in the Least Condition. We do not have Flatened leads in the calculator yet. Maybe it's time to add them. Let me know if you do not understand this data.

Flattened (coined) leads

Lead Maximum
Toe: 1,0
Heel: 0,5
Side: 0,1
Courtyard excess: 0,5
Round-off factor Nearest: 0,5

Lead Nominal
Toe: 0,65
Heel: 0,35
Side: 0,1
Courtyard excess: 0,25
Round-off factor: Nearest 0,5

Lead Least
Toe: 0,2
Heel: 0,2
Side: 0,1
Courtyard excess: 0,1
Round-off factor: Nearest 0,1
