Hi, everybody.

Q: What difference connect ways of the pin(via) between full contack and diagonal connect?

If I understood correctly, there will be reflections if you add a via and you connect the lines passing through it diagonally. It's always better to bend the lines (rather than placing them perpendicular) for less refelctions and noise.

Hey Blue,
I think you are refering to the way a via connects to a plane or an island. Diagonal connection refers to the angle at which the spokes of a thermal relief pattern connects the via pad to the plane or island. Full contact means that there will be no thermal relief for the via pad with respect to the plane or island.

There really is NO reason NOT to flood you vias. I've seen many diagonal or orthogonal (spoke) connections to vias, in many layouts, and it's ridiculous. What is thermal relief for? It's to help solder/unsolder "leaded" components. The only reason I could ever imagine for thermally relieving the vias is if you have a 20 layer board, and it have 12 GND planes or something like that. That case, you might want to relieve the vias to facilitate manufacturing the via barrels and ensuring consistant plating through the via. Other than that, I can't think of another reason.

When in doubt, ask your fabricator...

Good day.
