View Full Version : library attribute browser
My company took a stab at a corporate library. The problem is that the parts were named using our part number so it is very difficult to search a library for a 10k 1206 resistor. Is there a way to browse the attributes of the library so I can search for part descriptions?

I think this was on the wish list for V.6 but as of now I don't believe there is.

You can probably do this using PowerAccess.

There is a way to make a database out of your PowerLogic libraries. Firsdt you'll need Microsoft's Office Suit and have the one that's called Access. With this there is a way to make a datbase with existing libraries.

There are two ways to do this. You can find a free utility from our www page to convert PADS parttype data to .csv format which can be opened in table format by any spreadsheet (www.designsystems.fi).
Or, you can use PowerAccess which has more functionality. It runs with MsAccess runtime.
Hope this helps.

We also have a library using corporate part numbers. But we also have a database of our part numbers. So I have to search the part number database for my 10K resistor, then I know what part number to look for in the library. I added a button to the Access screen that puts the part on your cursor in Powerlogic - saves looking up parts in powerlogic.
