What is the width of my track required so that it can support up to 1A of current?Where do i find information about this?

Depends on the board technology. A general rule is that the finer the traces/pin pitch.... the less the weight of the copper. In other words, a Power Supply board using larger thru hole parts may use 3-4 ounce copper, where a fine pitch surface mount board may only use 1 ounce or a 1/2 ounce. Internal layers are often 1/2 ounce since they are not plated up. I think that's right. If not, someone will correct me. :)
