Hi Guys, I am learning Autocad this week and The project I have been given is to create a floorplan drawing for the production area. I drew a grid of floor tiles on the Grid layer and I wanted to draw some tables, file cabinets, desks etc. and lay them out on this grid. I have put the drawn objects on another layer called objects but I was wanting to make them opaque so that you cannot see the grid through them, Is there a way to do this?

You can make "solid" objects using the SOLID or PLINE command. Then you have to make sure the FILL command is set to ON.

Otherwise, the simple technique is to use a fine hatch on a particular layer to fill in the "solids."
