Anyone have any feed back regarding mnimum clearance from a smt pad to both a plated and non suppoted hole? We have a vendor asking for a minimum of 200 mils for all smt pads to all holes regardless of plating. I think we have an antique shop still in business. How can you layout an RF circuit with these constraints? Any feed back, (ammunition), would be greatly appreciated!

Typically, all assembly shops require all Bottom Side SMT pads to be 5mm (200 mils) away from all through hole pads because of Selective Wave Solder. This is an industry standard rule.

As far as the Top Side is concerned, your Normal Design Rules and Placement Courtyard boundaries should apply.

As far as non-plated holes, the industry standard clearance for any Copper Feature to hole spacing is 0.25mm (10 mils). Some manufacturers claim they can do 0.2mm (8 mils), but they are the exception.
