I was wondering how the polarizing key is handled. I need to add Molex 71226 (26 pins) with a polarizing key. The 71226 part in the pcbstandard does not have the polarizing key. I could create a decal containing 27 pins and use the 27 with a 0 size pad and a drill. But then I figure have an unwanted electrical connection in Powerlogic.

You're right about the 27 pin decal, that's the way to go, but remember to adhere to the padstack chart, found in the documentation folder, I think, regarding the additional pin, if you want to contribute that decal to the lib.

There won't be any problems with unwanted electrical connections in powerlogic because you would still declare the connector as having 26 pins, just refering to a 27pin decal.

hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I don't know where the padstack chart is. I did see a Through hole chart.

The URL works just fine. I had found this document already, but it doesn't seem to applied since it only addresses actual component pads and not mounting holes or polarizing pins.

the xls contains three tables, one for "component pins" that is plated through holes, one for non plated through holes and one for vias. I'd say the polarizing pin falls into the second category.

I don't use Excel offen enough to remember there are tabs to select different sheets. Thanks for answering what should have been obvious.

For Mounting Holes, please use the Word document Mounting Holes.doc. It should be merged into Padstacks.xls. I'll look into that.
