Hi,

For example I have 100 resistors with name R1 to R100.

And I have took out 10 resistors from the schematic. Thus, I have left with 90 resistors.

In this way, I will have non consequtive naming of the resistors. Is there anyway whereby I could "re-number" (compact) all the resistors numbering from R1 to R90 ?

Thanks

Best Regards

Not sure how you do it with only PowerLogic or if it's possible. Maybe someone else knows?

What I do is export the design to PowerPCB, and then use the ECO renumber tool in PowerPCB and create the .ECO text file to read back into PowerLogic.

How about try following method:

1) select setup->references->design tab then disable "Preserve Reference Designator on paste" checkbox.

2) select the region block of resisitors block R1-R90? you want to re-number (I assume you have R1-R90 in one selectable circuit block). right-click and Make Group for that selected block, then right-click again to copy it to a file.

3) delete the above selected block and then read in the copied block file. It should re-number sequentially from R1-R90 automatically.

There is a free PowerLogic renumber utility at http://www.designsystems.fi/downloads-english.htm. Works with PowerLogic 5.01, but gives an error message if PowerPCB is updated at the same time (we will compile the application again soon).

Hope this helps.

The is a program on designsystems. fi that will renumber the REF DES on schematic, but it is written for PowerLogic, and give an error when run on PADS Logic 2005. This program was written by Christian Friese

Does anybody know of a Vb Script the has been written for Pads Logics 2005 that will do the same thing.
