Dear Tom,
As promised, 2 sample crosstalk spreadsheets are now on the Polar website which allow you to calculate reverse voltage crosstalk.
One of the sheets (Edge Coupled surface microstrip) can be used with the demonstration version Si6000 (Version 3.00) and the other needs a licenced Si6000c to operate.
Stop!
Before you download, you need to read the following background information, especially the part about correct location of the extracted spreadsheet:
===================================================================
The models for reverse voltage crosstalk require values for Zo, Zeven and Zodd (see AP162 Reverse Voltage Crosstalk — exact and approximate equations). The workbooks demonstrate how the the Si6000-derived values for Zo, Zeven (Zoe) and Zodd (Zoo) can be used to graph the change in reverse voltage crosstalk against trace separation for two differential structures, Edge-coupled Surface Microstrip and Edge-coupled Offset Stripline.
Ensure you are using Si6000 version 3.00, and if you need to upgrade that you have read the instructions on migrating up to version 3.00 in AP164:
www.polarinstruments.com/support/cits/AP164.html
Download the zip files below and extract into your installation directory containing SI6000Expert.xls
Usually: C:\Program Files\Polar\Si6000

Reminder you need to unzip these files into the following directory: C:\Program Files\Polar\Si6000
For a technical discussion on the crosstalk equations here is a new application note for you:
www.polarinstruments.com/support/cits/AP162.html
And the main application note index is here.

Finally please note there are some very special price deals and upgrade offers on the Si6000, these close at the end of December, please check here for all the information:

Please do email Ken Taylor or myself if you have any questions regarding these new spreadsheets.
Kind regards
Martyn Gaudion

P.S. If you find these spreadsheets useful, you may like to suggest a spreadsheet that you would like to see included in the Si6000 resources. I would like to develop the Si6000 spreadsheet resources into a powerful set of spreadsheets for download. As always we will look at the most popular suggestions first.
P.P.S. If your colleagues would find this application note useful please forward them a copy of this email.
If you need to download Si6000 version3.00 you can locate it here: www.polarinstruments.com/contact/si6000form.html
